A second-language school born out of teaching practice.
More than 30 years of combined experience in language teaching and professional second-language training. The company has operated under the name Insitu SL since 2012, and has delivered all of its training online since 2020.

Our teaching team
Insitu aims to provide instructional continuity where possible while adapting training arrangements to the needs of the learning plan. That is what allows a session to resume where the last one stopped.
Teaching is delivered in French and English as a second language, to adults in a professional setting, using Insitu's own learning materials.
Our approach
Assessment preparation is integrated into a training plan adapted to the learner's level, professional objectives and language needs.
Work may include understanding instructions, organizing responses, oral communication, language accuracy and strategies useful in an assessment setting.
Our history
About Insitu SL
Insitu SL was founded in 2012. Both founders were teaching before it existed — Stéphane Deschênes has taught French since 1997 — and that is where the more than 30 years of combined experience this site refers to comes from. The business then grew by word of mouth, among a clientele made up mostly of employees of federal departments and agencies.
Since 2020 all training has been delivered online: live on Microsoft Teams and Zoom, with programmes built for each learner. Workplace sessions remain available on request.
The name still says the essential part — in situ, where the language is actually used. What changed is where that happens.

Adapted paths
Training is delivered online, in one-on-one or group sessions, live on Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Alongside it there is a supported self-study programme and paths designed for learners with learning difficulties, where the pace and the kind of exercise are adapted without lowering the language objective.
Workplace sessions are available on request. They are an option, not the default mode of delivery.
